NDU recently had the privilege of being part of the EmpowerU Career Expo in Cape Town, aimed at youth facing unemployment and helping the under 35s become job ready.
With a bus load of 60 young adults from our Computer Learning Centre and Job Journey programmes and others from the Manenberg area, the group heard motivational talks from businesses and other charitable organisations about career and study opportunities, apprenticeships and the bursaries available.
As well as sharing about NewDay, there was the opportunity for attendees to register with the Department of Labour, who run sessions on career planning to help broaden the employment horizons.
