Digital Hub

In partnership with the Ithuba Foundation in Langa, we have enhanced our regular Hluma Programme and created a digital space for learners in grades 4 – 12 with a focus on solving problems in their communities.

By developing design thinking, engineering, robotics, coding, science, technology and communication skills, these budding young innovators are encouraged to create new ideas, whilst developing technological skills. This helps to prepare our students for the technologies of the 4th industrial revolution and helps them grow as leaders of the future.

We currently have a group of 90 learners from Manenberg and Langa attending two days per week and in a matter of months, we are seeing amazing projects designed and proto typed by our learners. They are looking forward to some healthy competition among their peers later in the year!

We also run a CoderDojo and Robotics club, further developing our Hluma Kids computer programming and technology skills. These groups have been involved in the European Space Agency’s Astro-Pi Challenge and Amazon Innovation Competition.

You can read more about these on our CoderDojo and Robotics page.
